Composad (Saviola Group Business Unit) and their relationship with Ferwood

To reflect the company’s increased production rates and need to reduce lead times, Composad needed to find a solution to its increasing production schedule quickly.  This meant a need to purchase readily-available machinery that was dedicated to working effectively with oversized panels, quickly and hassle-free. In addition to this, Composad also required the disassembly and reassembly of a production line in its factory which needed to be completed during the Christmas break in order to limit downtime.

The partnership between the two companies began in 2019 with the purchase of a Weeke Optimat BHX 500 flexible drilling center and a Homag KAL 330/9 / A6 / L Profiline single edge banding machine with laser gluing system. The supply of overhauled machines, installation and operator training allowed Composad to start its production in a very short time. Later that year, the two businesses worked together again with the relocation, installation, testing and maintenance of a Bargstedt Weeke Profiline BHT 800 drilling production line. Ferwood continues to support Composad with various services: assistance, scheduled maintenance of some production lines and the supply of used and spare parts.
