HOLZMA Plattenaufteiltechnik GmbH

Originally founded in 1966 the Company HOLZMA Plattenaufteiltechnik GmbH was the former name of the Homag Group production company specialising in Beam Saws for Panel sizing of wood based sheet materials, plastics and non ferrous metals for industry.

Holzma Beam Saws could be considered as market leaders in many countries, sold and supported via locally established Homag sales subsidiaries and service partners. Formally marketed worldwide in its own brand name Holzma, since 2017 all Homag Group products are known as Homag SAWTEQ with Holzma providing the same beam panel saw models but now under the sub brand.

Holzma were the first to produce the concept of the Beam panel saw with electronic control in 1970 and produced the first Angle Plant high production panel sizing system that was delivered to a UK customer in 1972. Always innovating Holzma are responsible for many of the standard beam saw features and design seen today.

Holzma produced CNC beam panel sizing saws for all markets from the craftsman enterprise to the high production furniture manufacturers.

These include Front loading beamsaws with saw blade projection from 55mm to 125mm previously known as the HPP series. Typical beam saw models include HPP250HPP350HPP380. All of these models can be offered in different cutting lengths which are typically 3200mm , 3800mm and 4300mm. Some front loading beam saw models can also be offered with a 5600mm cutting length.

For higher volume panel sizing production, the same cutting height beam saw series are offered with a rear lift with automatic pack loading from the stack. These rear loading beam saws can have the full book of material loaded onto the lift directly or for greater productivity and flexibility loaded and books via waiting roller sets. Beam saws with rear automatic loading are known as the HPL series (L for lift).

With automated loading comes the possibility to have a beam saw with a saw blade projection even up to 180mm. Rear loading beam saws can also be equipped with a Head Cut Turning Device which rotates the pack to be cut by 90 degrees to enable head-cutting for improved materials yield particularly on grained materials.

Once the Head cut is removed, the Head cut device returns the machine to the original orientation and the cutting process continues.

For very high panel sizing production, Multi saw panel sizing systems involving more than one sawing unit integrated onto one machine are available. This includes the Holzma HFL Fixomat series and HKL Compact Fixomat series of Angle plant panel sizing systems. These panel sizing plants tend to have a high saw blade projection from 95mm on the HKL380 , 125mm on the HFL510 to 180mm on special Fixomat models.

Often with two Panel sizing sawing units for Rip Cutting and Cross Cutting sometimes a third is added for improved efficiency when cutting head cuts. These Angle Plant multi saw panel sizing units would have fully automatic sheet materials handling of the stack to be sized and then a combination of Automatic and Semi-automatic part offloading at the outfeed.

A key to the success of the Holzma Beam Panel Saw range was the standardisation of the most commonly demanded beam saw specifications though the Homag Group OPTIMAT program making them easy for the salesman to configure, the sales company to stock and for the customer to understand.

HOMAG SAWTEQ = Holzma Beam saws

Holzma beam saws HPP front loading , HPL Rear Loading and Angle plant models are now all referred to as SAWTEQ B Series machines which include the Sawteq B 130 , Sawteq B 200Sawteq B 300 as from loading machines with from 65mm to 95mm blade projection. Larger models such as the Sawteq B500 , Sawteq B600 and Sawteq B800 are all available as rear loading machines or Angle plant multi saw panel sizing systems.
